Job Title: Environmental, Health and Safety Coordinator
Department: Compliance & Quality
Reports To: Director, Operations Compliance


SUMMARY:
The position is responsible for coordinating the training, implementation and compliance with all applicable environmental, health, safety and industrial hygiene requirements for at least two manufacturing locations in China. In addition, the position may be responsible for participating in divisional EHS activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties and responsibilities are core to the position, additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as required by the needs of the business.

- Coordinates and implements compliance with all applicable Chinese environmental, health, safety and industrial hygiene regulations (local, provincial and state).
- Coordinate and manage the application for and compliance with all applicable EHS permits and related compliance activities.
- Coordinates and managers EHS regulatory inspections and follow-up activities.
- Coordinates and implements applicable EHS training programs to ensure compliance with local, state and federal requirements and to ensure a safe and environmentally responsible operation.
- Coordinate, conduct and report on EHS audit and inspection programs for applicable responsibilities.
- Coordinates and develops EHS incentive and improvement programs.
- Coordinates incidents investigations, root cause determinations and corrective action implementation.
- Coordinate, conduct and report on industrial hygiene activities, as necessary to maintain a compliant and safe work environment.
- Coordinate a safety committee and EHS meetings as appropriate for the site.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- B.S. or equivalent in relevant discipline; plus five years industrial manufacturing related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
- The individual must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as EHS laws, regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in Chinese and in English. In addition, the individual must have the ability to prepare electronic and hard copy EHS reports, permits, training presentations and correspondence in Chinese and in English. Also, the individual must have the ability to communicate effectively with employees and regulators in Chinese and English.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- The individual must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. The individual must also have the ability to compute rate, ration, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY
- The individual must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. In addition, the individual must be able to conduct incident investigations that determine root cause and identify corrective actions that prevent reoccurrence. This includes the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATE, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Certified Industrial Hygienist(CIH), Certified Safety professional (CSP), and/or Certified Hazardous Materials Managers(CHMM) or equivalent preferred but not required.
